February Fun

Hi everyone. We have been working away this month. School continues, the bumps have gotten straightened out again after the Christmas break, so things are going a little smoother for the most part. That's what I hear from the teacher anyways! Some days are better than others of course, but things are progressing which is good. I have been having a lot of education going on at my work, we are getting a new computer system at the hospital and it will be a huge change for all of us. I have been designated as one of the super users. So lots of training going on. Nicole is threatening to lock me in the house, she hates it when I am at work. Andrew too. If they only knew that most parents aren't home as much as Steve and I are. But so glad that we get to be home as a family as much as we are.

Silly pictures of the kids playing dress up with Marlie. What a trooper she was!!!

We had a nice valentines day, the coop school we go to had valentines, we were supposed to make a box, so the kids and I decorated one up, it was simple, but cute. I got tulips and chocolates from Steve and the kids.

The laundry room we have been working on is coming along. It is hard to get it all done with everything else Steve is working on, but we have the cabinets in, some shelves in and the flooring done. Steve still needs to finish the moulding, get the door back in place and finish the cainet counter top and put in the sink. It will be so nice when it is all completed!!!

We have been watching the Olympics quite a lot. I told the kids the next time they see the winter olympics they would be 9 and 10 years old! They were like, what? Wow! So they have been interested in them, Nicole and Andrew both really like to see the figure skating, and we have watched quite a bit of the different ski and snowboard racing. Here is a little video of them trying out their own olympic dreams! I remember Laurene and I doing this on our kitchen floor after watching the olympics when we were little. Too cute!

The weather has been amazing lately. The people who know are concerned about our snow pack up in the mountains with all of our sunshine lately and what that might mean for our water reserves this summer, but I must say we are enjoying an unusually dry February. We drove down to Olympia on Monday (which we pretend is Saturday for us, as I work the weekends and Monday is the only day we don't have school, or speech therapy or something scheduled) and spent the day outside at the Nisqually Wild Life Refruge and did some hiking and hangning out at a beach. It was really nice. Here are a few pics and a little video. Now, don't go telling anyone about how nice it is up here sometimes. People think we get rain 365 days a year, and we don't want people to know our real secret. Shhhhh, just between you and me, okay?
