Our first ride on the tandems!

We took our first ride on the tandems with the kids on Saturday and then again today, (Sunday). We went on the one of the rails to trails bicycle trail, it had been an old railroad track, and after it had been abandoned it has been made into a walking/biking/ whatever trail. We even share it with some equestrian traffic, which made for some interesting steering in a few places=0) We had a lot of fun, my legs are still burning. It will be good to hopefully get back in a little better shape. Little Andrew and Nicole are quite competative, they kept wanting us to "go faster!" What a fun time we will have with these two. Yesturday's ride was 20 miles and today was 15. They held up really well. We snagged a passer by at a park so here is the newest family portrait. Lycra and all.

Mother's Day 2008

We had a nice Mother's Day. It was my weekend to work, unfortunately, but it was still nice. We decided to stay home from church to have some family time. I was supposed to have a home made breakfast, but, ahem, you know how those things go...
=0) Instead we had an early lunch at a Mongolian Grill restraunt on our way out to Chase Gardens, a local garden not far from here. It was about 4 acres and the home is where the owner still lives, who is about 98 years old! It has been a strange spring so far. It was a nice day, even if we did have to cut it short so I could head off to work.

The newest member of the family

We went out and got a new (to us) tandem this weekend!!!! We are very exctied about this. We got a Santana Tandem catalog last month and that started the whole thing, those darn marketing people!!! Made us remember all the fun we had on our tandem and then the conversations started, "I wonder if we could take the kids..." And then the search and now the bike is real and in our garage!!! We got this wonderful creation off of Craig's List, it is about 22 years old from what we can tell. We are the third owners and very excited about taking the little chicklits out on a ride!!! Two teeth gone!

Andrew's second lower middle tooth has come out now! If he looses the top two soon he will have a devil of a time with his words!!!! Too cute...
