We had a nice quiet Mom's day yesturday. I worked my night shifts over the weekend, so when I called Steve on my drive home he said "Just to let you know your Mom's day starts after your nap!" Apparently the kids were up by, listen to this, 5:15 am! When asked why they were awake little Nicole responds "The sun is up, it's morning time!" Ugh. So Steve had to manage the chicklets instead of get the house straightened up for me, as this was really the only request I had for mom's day, was a clean house! Our big present will be the hot tub, which we can't wait for, but will be several months before it is delivered. I had my nap and then got up to get ready for church and Steve had made us breakfast that we ate out on our deck, and the house was nice and clean when I got up, but as you can imagine with two active preschoolers, that can only last for so long. So this morning I will be cleaning house yet again! The never ending story of my life. Here is a pic of me after my all nighter and my 1 1/2 hour power nap. Lovely I know, but we had to have a picture! Here too is a picture of the card the kids made me with a little help from Dad. We went to church and then spent a quiet afternoon at home. It was a good day.
